Novica $35 Gift Certificate Giveaway

  I have been in awe of National Geographic Magazine since I was very young. My grandparents had a huge collection of the magazines. They literally had decades saved up in National Geographic boxes organized by year. This is where I get my passion for exotic locations and items from all over the world. I found an incredible way to bring those out of the ordinary products from afar to your home. These are so beautiful. Mom seems to really love them. I think I really surprised her with them. The Garnets have excellent clarity. The craftsmanship of the silver is truly amazing. Mom’s earrings cam in a lovely gift bag with a card explaining  where they came from. I love that Novica and National Geographic work together this way to help people all over the world find jobs and support their families.

The exuberant glow of faceted garnets shines through this attractive pair of earrings. The design is by Komang Wirawan. He guides the crafting of the pair in sterling silver with a burnished finish. .925 Sterling silverAn artisan story card will be included with your purchase.

These gorgeous earrings are the creation of artisan Komang Wirawan. Here is his story:

Komang Wirawan

Born on March 3, 1974 in the Gianyar Regency, Komang Wirawan is the youngest of three children. At first Wirawan did not show any interest in the creation of silver jewelry and instead learned to carve wood. It was in Secondary School where he eventually became drawn to the creation of fine silver jewelry.

Due to harsh economic circumstances, Wirawan worked after school in order to be able to pay for school tuition and whatever else he needed for his studies. He walked far everyday to Celuk, a village renowned for its silver and gold jewelry and where he began to acquire the elements of his craft. Wirawan worked hard every day, sometimes for long hours.

Wirawan has gained experience over the passing of the years, but doesn’t consider himself to be a success – yet. He has high hopes that his collaboration with Novica will bring him closer to success.
