untitledSpice Pioneer: Spice Subscription Box

Tired of eating the same meals over and over? Want to try something different. Don’t know where to start? Check out Spice Pioneer: Spice Subscription Box. This unique subscription service takes you all around the world to bring some exotic flavors to your table. Each month you will receive a new culinary experience. Hubby and I got to review Spice Pioneer. Let’s check out what we discovered.

We had two boxes. The first box takes us on a culinary journey to Marrakesh, Morocco. Our box includes spices to make:

  • Chicken Tagine with Apricots, Ginger and Ras el-Hanout
  • Orange and Date Salad with Preserved Lemon and Pomegranate Molasses
  • Couscous with Roasted Fennel Butter

I am stoked to give it a try. The box has Ras el-Hanout, Ground Cinnamon, Cumin Seeds, Morocco-20-1Fennel Seeds, Preserved Lemon and Pomegranate Molasses. I have to admit I was happy to see the last two ingredients in the box as I was not sure exactly where I was going to find them otherwise. There are just enough of each ingredient to make each included recipe. this is wonderful as it drastically decreases my need for measuring. Makes it fun to cook with children as well. No ooopses in the kitchen. Check out how beautiful this meal is.

Our second Box brings us to Galle, Sri Lanka. I told you Spice Pioneer was going to give your taste buds new delights. With this kit we are going to create:

  • Sri Lankan Monkfish Curry with Basmati Rice
  • Beetroot Curry
  • Spicy Green Beans with Black Mustard Seeds.

OSri-Lanka-20-1ur spices for this box include: Sri Lankan Curry Powder, Tamarind Paste, Curry Leaves, Ground Cinnamon, Ground Coriander, Malay Curry Powder, Black Mustard Seeds and Fenugreek Seeds. Again we get exactly what we need for the meal. Do y’all realize how much it would cost you to buy all of these ingredients separately? If you can even find some of them.

I love how there are shopping lists included so shopping for other ingredients is simple. There is also a list of kitchen items you will need to make the dishes. Alternative supplies are also listed incase you do not have a tagine or a wok in your kitchen.
