Royal Berkey Water Filter Giveaway (ARV $283)

I was really happy to get the chance to review the Royal Berkey Water Filter from Big Berkey. The Royal Berkey is a super stylish water filter that will look fabulous in any decor.
We live in the country and have well water. We have it tested occasionally just to make sure it is good. Every time it is tested the water folks tell us it is of excellent quality and could be bottled and sold. When we received the Royal Berkey for review I really was not expecting much change in our water after filtration. Was I surprised at the results. The filtered water was much smoother on the tongue and had no hint of bitter flavor.
Y’all know we all did the taste test. Everyone agreed the Royal Berkey filtered water  tasted much better than our well water unfiltered.
We even made ice cubes with the filtered water. Comparison showed that the unfiltered water left mineral deposits floating in the glass after the ice melted. The ice that was filtered did not. So you can see the Royal Berkey really gets the job done.
We will be moving soon and will have to deal with city water once again. What a relief it is to know that the Royal Berkey will make our water pure and clean

About the Royal Berkey Water Filter from the website:

The versatile Royal Berkey water filter is the ideal system for use at home with large families, travel, outdoor activities or during unexpected emergencies.
This powerful system purifies both treated water and untreated raw water from such sources as remote lakes, streams, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be substandard at best.  Perfect for outdoor activities and a must in hostile environments where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be available.
This system removes pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOCs, organic solvents, radon 222 and trihalomethanes.  It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. This system is so powerful it can remove food coloring from water without removing the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system can duplicate this performance.

Royal Berkey Specifications

Constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel, the Royal Berkey comes complete with two purification elements and utilizes the latest technological advances.
  • Storage Capacity = 3.25 gallons (12.3 liters)
  • Height = 23″
  • Diameter = 9.5”
  • Portability = The upper chamber nests within the lower chamber for transport and stands only 15.25” in height.
  • Flow Rate
    • Configured with 2 Black Berkey purification elements the system can purify 4.0 Gallons per hour.
    • Configured with 4 Black Berkey purification elements the system can purify 8.0 Gallons per hour.
  • Fluoride Removal = Up to 4 PF-2 Fluoride and Arsenic Filters may be installed in the lower chamber of this system if desired
  • Comes with Spigot, Lid, Washers, Nuts, 2 Blocking Plugs, and Rubber Gasket

Ultimately, there are 2 variations of this model.  Please review and make your choice below.

Each Durable filter will last up to 3000 gallons(6000 gallons per set of 2).  At 10 gallons per week, this is equivalent to 600 weeks.  That’s more than 11.5 years of clean water! Berkey water filters assemble in minutes without tools, electricity, water pressure, or plumbing. What’s more, they are simple to operate, understand, clean, and maintain. Check Out This Video:

  97. I follow via email. From the Berkey site, I have had the Big Berkey on my wishlist for a very long time. My family of 6 has been trying to improve our emergency preparations. We have 6 months of food stored, but not even a week’s worth of water. There just isn’t any room! It is recommended that families keep 1 gallon per person per day. That is just not possible for us, unless we all share a bedroom and dedicate a room to water storage. However, we do have outside sources of water. We can’t drink it as-is, but a good filter would solve our problems in emergency situations. It would also be nice to have for camping vacations.
